We are one Step Closer!

Hello Brothers, Sisters and Friends!!, first of all I would like to thank all of you for reading my support letter, it was really encouraging for me to know that many of you took the time to read it.

Also I wanted through this new letter give you some updates about how is everything  going in regards of fund raising and at the same time tell you what God has been doing in my life lately and what is coming up in these future months.

As most of you know is my hope, prayer and goal, to get 70 people willing to sponsor me with 100 US$ (or any other smaller donation is also always welcome!!) that way I could pay for my first year as a student at Foothill College in Northern California.

So far I have 550 US$ in my college acct, from 6 different people, pra

ise the lord for that!

There is still a long way to go to reach this dream, so please keep praying that God continue to move his hand and keep providing for me.

As for me, I keep working as a volunteer youth worker at my local church, I have been involved in this ministry for 3 years now, God is doing great things among us, now we are introducing ourselves into a new vision called G12 that is based in small groups work and evangelism, the challenge is big and we are seeing the needs of our community to have Jesus Christ in their lives. Please remember us and Uruguay in your prayers!!

As I told you in my last letter Teenstreet is youth congress that God has used to bless and encourage my life in many different ways, from January 14th – 19th Teenstreet is going to take place in Montevideo Uruguay, this will be the 7th year here, since 2006 I have been part of the program team by being one of the speakers at the congress, please pray for all the teenagers that are coming from all over South America to join us for a wonderful week in God’s presence. This year we are expecting about 500 Teenagers from Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Ecuador and Uruguay.  (www.teenstreet.om.org).

Well I hope you have enjoyed reading about what God has been doing in my life and what he has in store for me in the near future, I am thankful to God for putting you in my path at some point in my life, know that you have been a very important part of it, and that God used you to bless me in many different ways!

Thank you for all your prayers and support.

Hello my Brothers,Sisters and Friends!

My name is Darwin Silva. I am 21 years old and  am from Uruguay, a really small country in South  America, next to Brazil and Argentina.
The reason I am coming to you is to give you the opportunity of beof a miracle. About 6 years ago I became a follower of Jesus. I was born into a non-Christian family and at the age of 15 when my life didn’t have a purpose and all my dreams and desires seemed to be thousands of miles away from me, God came into my life. I was invited by my neighbors to attend at very small church in Montevideo (the city where I live). The first day I entered into the Church God started to change my heart and put inside of me a passion for missions. I always dreamed of the possibility of traveling out outside of my country but due to my family being part of a low social class that seemed like something that would be impossible for me to do.

In January of 2003 I participated of a youth camp for teenagers called Teenstreet. That year it’s main focus was missions, and God spoke to my heart and I felt a strong calling to serve him in missions.

The year after that I was invited by the leaders of this youth camp to be part of a drama team in Germany for

                                                                                                               Teaching about evangelism

                                                                                                               Santiago, Chile  (April, 2008)

the same youth camp that also takes place in this country. I was 16 years old, unemployed, and in my sophomore year of high school, but God worked in such an amazing way to provide me the money that I needed to attend to the camp and have a wonderful time there.

Foothill College

After that miracle, God continued to take me to places I never dreamed of going to, and I experienced him in a whole new way.

God took me out of a purposeless life and gave me a life full of adventures and new challenges. Since I received Jesus into my heart I have been to five different countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, USA and Germany),have met thousands of wonderful brothers and sisters all around the world, and have seen God changing the lives of people in many different and cool ways.

Now I am in front of a new challenge and that is why I am asking for your help.

In the summer of 2006 I was accepted into a Summer Ministry Project sponsored by a Church (Peninsula Covenant) in northern California. During

my time there I was encouraged to continue my higher education in the United States. After thinking and praying about it, I began dreaming about that. Now I find myself applying to a community College in Northern California

I have graduated from high school last year,( a little late because of all the traveling) I have done and all the paper work that was needed. The only hurdle on my way to accomplishing my goal of a college education is the money to pay for my first year of school. So I am asking to my brothers and sisters, friends around the World,to help me with donations and off course a lot of prayer!!.

My idea and hope is to get 70 people to sponsor me with 100 US$, that way my first year of college will be covered.

If you would like to be one of them you could send your donation to

P.S  Maybe 100 US$ is too much for you, and you still would like to help me, you can send a smaller donation even 1 dollar will count and help to get closer to this dream.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this Letter.

God Bless you.

Darwin.
